I hope the images in the video of our POWs returning home touched you.

I can’t imagine how horrible their suffering must have been. But I can imagine how grateful and happy they were that their nightmare was finally over.

What you watched captures the spirit of what we’re trying to do at The National Vietnam War Museum.

When the museum is complete, it will serve as a place of healing, reflection, and learning to all who come through its doors.

It will honor the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to stop the spread of Communism throughout the world so others could live in freedom.

It will pay homage to the more than 58,000 members of the Armed Forces who gave their lives during that long and terrible conflict, including the more than 2,500 POWs who suffered excruciating pain - some for as many as eight years!
