Congressman Sam Johnson (R-TX) joins the museum Board of Visitors

The National Vietnam War Museum is pleased to announce that Congressman Sam Johnson (R-TX) has joined the museum Board of Visitors. Congressman Johnson, a 29-year US Air Force veteran, and Vietnam POW, is the highest-ranking Texan on both the Ways & Means Committee and the Committee on Education and the Workforce.

Congressman Johnson is a graduate of SMU, and served as a fighter pilot in both Korea and Vietnam, and also flew with the Air Force Thunderbirds precision flying team. As a decorated war hero, and one of the few members of Congress who has actually served in combat, Congressman Johnson also serves as an informal advisor on military readiness issues.

Congressman Johnson, who grew up in Dallas, has represented the people of Texas’ third district since 1991 and is married to the Former Shirley L. Melton of Dallas.

The National Vietnam War Museum welcomes Congressman Johnson to the Board of Visitors and is looking forward to a long and mutually supportive relationship.
